Brussel Sprouts

With Hugo now old enough to enjoy exploring food, and the other children all old enough to help in the kitchen, I have been trying to help them appreciate the food we eat. To talk about it, hold it, smell and cook it. I do not force them to eat it, but do encourage them to taste.

Today we baked brussel sprouts (in my mind, the dreaded food by all english children served up with their Sunday roast) simply cooked with coconut oil and served with hummus. Theodore helped me cut and place them in circles on the plate and India spooned on the hummus. To my amazement, all three of them consumed the whole plate, all the while using phrases like “this is my most favorite food ever”.
